This isn't directly about biking, but it's important to my life, so I'm gonna talk about it now.
Johan met me about a month ago, based on a series of coincidences that all started because of our Yuba Mundos. Though he lives in Brussels, and I live in Seattle, we both share a passion for environmentalism, energy conservation, biking, and awareness for Asperger's Syndrome, which we both have. He posted a letter to the YM site talking about a cool experience he had on his bike, and from there he saw my blog (that you're reading now). He liked what he read, and he looked me up on Facebook. We started chatting, and very quickly (as Aspies are wont to do) fell in love.
Since then we have been inseparable. Well, except for the 5000 miles which actually separates us, that is.
At the end of this month, though, even that distance will no longer be an obstacle. He has got his passport, and has booked a flight, and will be arriving in about ten days! His first stay is going to be for three weeks. I've gotten special approval from my landlord and the Section 8 Housing Authority to have him as my guest for that extended time. (The normal limit is two weeks.)
E-mails and IM chats and phone calls and video calls with a webcam are all a great blessing, and I'm glad we have so many different ways to keep in touch. But in a matter of days, we'll be able to start being in TOUCH!!!
My heart is all a-quiver. (Cue tinkly cupid music.)
